AMPA, Fla. -- Busch Gardens in Tampa is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
August A. Busch Jr. officially dedicated the park on March 31, 1959, and Busch Gardens is marking its anniversary with a commemorative display. Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio contributed to the park's memory wall Monday by adding a 1974 photo of herself taken the day she started work at the park's Zagora Cafe.
The memory wall also features hundreds of other items, including photos that highlight every major event and attraction at the park over the past five decades.
