is it just my perception?

I was big into pin trading back in 2000 but have really drifted away from the hobby as of late. I have thousands of pins in my collection that I accumulated over the past nine years.

I used to faithfully attend the big Pin Event @ EPCOT each fall but the last few years have refrained from doing so. To me it seems as though Disney releases too many pins. You can't afford or keep up with the releases.

Although, I must admit I've made some great friends as a result of pin trading however, I think the Pin Trading craze has run its course.

What do you all think?

Yeah thats about where I am. I choose one or two pins I really like and just leave it at that.

My kids collected every WDWR hidden mickey pin each year! It's so fun for them to see if they can get them all. They have almost everyone. There are a few older ones we have stopped looking for. :micball:

Love pins as a great hobby for Disney Addicted Kids.

Miss the kids pin nights at Cont.

This is something my kids have started getting into. They each have about 8 but we also don't go crazy purchasing them. I let them choose one or two that are most memorable about the current trip. We wouldn't know which ones are the most sought after or anything either.

My kiddos still love pin trading. We've never been a family that collects all of them in a set or all that we like that are released. Instead we just start out our trips with a lanyard and a set of 15 pins and trade while at Disney World to help remember our favorite parts of our vacation. I don't see it going away anytime soon. We'd be heartbroken if it did!
