Here's a little thing I came up with to put in my room window when we're at the World in Oct...

(Note cuatwdw and TGM are placed on TOP! -- the other site made the image {barely} and is at the bottom)

THis is from another site,From MousePlanet:

Quote:
Some of our readers are complaining about an apparent policy change regarding window and room decorations placed by guests during their stay. Apparently the policy has the guests being assessed a fee for decorating their room windows. As a number of our readers enjoy decorating their rooms, especially for the Halloween and Christmas seasons, this is causing some consternation.

I hope its not true! I loved decorating our window at POP....!

WTH?!

It's not like the images leave residue on the windows. I would totally fight any such charges. If such information is not presented to me when I check in, it is not an allowable charge.

Maybe some people are using things that ARE staining the windows? Or not cleaning up their things before they leave?

I'll try to remember to post here what I find out when I am there next month.

Please do:)

Some folks do go overboard I imagine...but why should others suffer? I agree, if policies arent presented to the guests....then how would you know?

I bet some guests do not bother, and leaves tons of scotch tape residue on windows perhaps????

Thanks!

I did see a photo of the window that was in question of being fined $25....the guest had used some type of window marker.....and wrote all over the window.
TravelinGal...your creation is art......that wasnt!

However, it was never confirmed if the guest actually was spoken to by management, jsut a message left in their room (phone).
So this could be rumor, unless Disney releases an official statement.

Diana - your window was really cute! I didn't even think of doing something for DS's birthday! bad mommy...

oh gosh - I can see where markers (window marker or not!) could be subject to a fine if they don't get it all cleaned up before they checked out.

Sorry I forgot to follow up on this thread -- nothing was ever said about the clings in the windows in Oct. I also hung crepe paper streamers around the room and in the window for DS's birthday and nothing was said about that either.

The photos were posted in my trip report, but I'll post them here as well, since it is relevant to the topic:

I also did a comparison of a regular window cling (that I forgot to reverse when I printed it - so I stopped the printer half way - I took it just for this comparison photo and then took it down) and the same image with white acrylic spray paint on the back. HUGE difference! It was worth the time to spray the multiple layers (little bit at a time - drying between layers) for the final product...
