Sources at Walt Disney World themeparks are planning on implemeting something new for the Halloween season beginning October 1st and ending immediately following October 31st. To enhance the Halloween theming after sundown and during evening Extra Magic Hours, select rides at all four parks will be reconfigured and will have "of Terror" added somewhere in the ride's name to indicate its added intensity. No word on which rides will be added to this list, but these sources have provided a few hints as to some of the possibilities that are being considered in the boardroom:
"Tomorrowland Indy Speedway of Terror" will have cars going in the opposite direction at higher speeds.
"Hall of Presidents of Terror" will feature guest spots for both Al Gore and Rush Limbaugh as they debate global warming.
For "Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin of Terror", targets will shoot back.
The "Rockin' Roller Coaster of Terror brought to you by Geico" will feature no safety harness to go with the change in sponsorship.
Mission Space of Terror will feature a newly-added "Red" queue which will not only feature more G-Forces, but also feature newly-developed "crashing-action" for unsuccessful missions.
Kilamanjaro Safaris of Terror will feature random breakdowns of the trams during night feeding times.
The Great Movie Ride of Terror will feature only Horror Films and Foreign Documentaries.
Even some of the signature fireworks displays and select shows of the parks might be joining in. "Fantasmic of Terror" is rumored to let Melificent win once in a while. Also, the "Wishes of Terror" fireworks show could feature strategically placed salvos with shorter fuses pointed directly at the audience for "enhanced viewing experience".
This list is unofficial and could be enhanced as the members of the "Terror Team" are actively polling park patrons and watching boards such as this one for more ideas. Sadly, it appears that "it's a small world" will not be considered for this promotion as it was deemed frightening enough already.
