Warning** First Ever Pre-Trip/Trip Report **

Disclaimer** May or May Not be Entertaining**

So, you ask, who is going to WDW? Just me:mickeyjump:

DH is sending me for a bday trip...ok....I begged him back in March that this would be great..Food and Wine...a long weekend..a little break from my job as Domestic CEO...

Fortunately, for me, I knew of a great lady who was also going at the same time! She will have more time around the world, but we won't go there....:moa:

Have changed my reservations, oh just a few times, but am staying at Caribbean Beach Resort and then AKV Savanna View for my last night.
Have never stayed at CBR, so looking forward to it, and especially to check out the new pool! (Will take photos!)

So if interested, stay tuned...

I leave on Friday, Sept 26 and return late Monday night...Had to choose funky flight times, but at $99 each way....and with the kids, worked out great! Well, I guess that is still to be determined! HA!
So DH will be staying home with DS15, DD11 and DD2:mickeyjump:

Not sure how I will manage without pushing a stroller, chasing after a 2 yr old and spending our days with TS Fay like last month! LOL
DD2 and I had some great moments that will last a lifetime:) She may not remember, but I will!

Anyway.....Food, Wine and MNSSHP, OH MY!!

We have dinner plans for Jiko...(never been) so excited about that!
Since it is an election year, how appropriate to have our dinner at LTT before MNSSHP and be patriotic!!

Ok...really the characters are leaving and Goofys*Gal says this is a great time and a great way to start the night! (She is usually spot on about Disney things!!!)

We also have an event booked for Sunday at Epcot ..called "Sweet Sundays"!!

Jiko - I know you'll love,

LTT - will be bittersweet for me as it will be the last time I'll dine there "with" the characters. :(

MNSSHP - another "I know you'll love it!"

Sweet Sunday - this will be a first for me also and, honestly, the reviews in previous years have been less-than-glowing. I am optimistic though - especially since the guys from "Baked" (Brooklyn, NY) are the hosts. :woohoo: (YUMMY!!)

Oh! And since I can't get my ticker working yet - 2 Weeks and 1 Day for me!!!!

Pretty much the only people who don't think MK needs these characters at LTT is the powers-that-be at Disney. :(

Trip Planning**

Still on the fence of...Do I really need to check a piece of luggage? Can I really survive with a pilot case and my DVC tote bag ...just carry ons???? lol
If I do check luggage, albeit a small piece of luggage, I will never hear the end of it from my DH! LOL
However, men really do not need much when they leave for a long weekend:)
Speaking of which, my DH leaves this Friday for a weekend in McCall, Idaho with his childhood friends.
DH has offered to give me a lesson in packing...ha ha!!

It doesn't matter if I'm going for a long weekend or, as with this upcoming trip, 8 days - I never seem to fit it all in a carry-on so I ALWAYS check luggage!!

I also bring a carry-on bag with essentials and some extra clothes so that when my luggage goes temporarily missing, as it did in June - I'm good for a day or 2!!! ;)

I guess I am checking one piece of luggage..just in case I buy a few things;)

The only thing is my flight comes in so late, they will hold it at the Custom House til the a.m.....however, at OKW, I did tell them to just bring it at any time....which was after 2 am!!!!

8 days...I can dream...or live vicariously through you:)

A long weekend @ WDW is better than nothing. We'll take those WDW trips any way we can get them!!! :)

I know you will have plenty of opportunities for longer stays! ;)

Maybe its the 8 days without kids I was dreaming about!! LOL

Nah....I just never seem to do everything I plan to do ....I didnt even get to the Spa at SSR to get my candles I love!!! And I stayed at the resort! LOL

well after todays announcements, wonder if any of the BLT rooms will be on display at SSR?
It wouldn't have been my first pick for a monorail resort to become DVC....but it is nice to have a DVC resort right next to MK!
Maybe I will make it over to SSR to get my candles after all! :)

Already called....the BLT models are supposedly only open to "members" for viewing..will be taking photos to post here.
Can hove photos posted by the 30th!

Gail*..glad you chuckled...I had read the name at one point was going to be Kingdom Tower.. rumor....I have always thought the Contemporary looked like a toaster, so the BLT fits right in!

So, its getting close!!!
Of course our camground decides to change our Halloween Celebration to this weekend! rats!
At least I know my family will be having some fun as well.....while I am in WDW!! LOL
Weather looks good for Orlando...no rain! Had enough of it with TS Fay last month!!

WDW Celebrations is having an event this weekend. We signed up for it, however doesnt quite fit in with our plans. May show up Sat morning to check things out for a bit....

Will do!! I always thought reislings were a bit too sweet, bit there are some good ones out there I have enjoyed. So looking forward to having one in "Canada"..will toast to Grumpy:)

So, must pack today! Leave tomorrow afternoon out of Midway, cant beat that SW fare I got:) Last minute resort change...I have been known to change resorts, if not staying DVC!! lol
After reviewing my fast and furious schedule...I would really only be sleeping in my room...I wouldnt have time to enjoy CBR...so I was able to get an Awesome AP rate at ASMusic..makes more sense! Then I move to AKV...got a Savannah view so I hope to get some awesome photos ..the morning I check out...lol..wont even have alot of time there either!
With F & W, MNSSHP,ADR's at LTT and Jiko..etc..etc....hope I can sleep! lol
Where else can you book a room for $64 (pre tax), get RT transportation to and from, and be on WDW property, with transportation?! Love my AP...:)

Weather looks great, will not miss the rain !!! lol I am so done with ponchos!

What a great trip! So many photos, so many prosecco's..lol..so little time!!

Tried a new resort, All Star Music...let me tell you, the later you check in, the further your room is! (If not preferred!) LOL Although, it worked to my benefit..quiet area, no traffic of any kind, room was last to have the refurb in County Fair.

AKV was wonderful..on Zebra Trail, prefer Kudu better.

Will post photos and more later!
I was the only person on the Magical Express bus back to MCO! YEs..how many can say that?! lol

Food and Wine was wonderful, will be returning for that next year, in October..want to get in FREE for my birthday! You know, the 39th! LOL

I was at the far end of this resort, thought my room was actually in Movies...lol..
However, very quiet, secluded..perhaps better for a couple on a honeymoon, or family with little ones who need naps, ..lol

Was very tired my first morning as I did not get into my room until 2 am....
Did not have to wait for a bus...crowded, but was lucky to get a seat. I did attempt to give it up for an older gentleman who refused , but I sat next to his wife.
By the time we arrived at Epcot, our conversation revealed that the doctor who delivered me, Dr Pill, was her doctor years ago here in this area. Her daughter was born 6 mths before me, and was named Diane Marie, I am Diana Marie....
Funny how you just start talking about where you are from, etc..
Off to Epcot and ....it was a beautiful day..met Goofy*sGal and we were off to WS!!

Dinner at Jiko, my first "official" night as arriving at ASMusic at 2 am doesnt count!!! lol

We spent some time at Victoria Falls meeting a few others who are fans of AKL/AKV from another forum...had a little "meet"..was fun, met some nice folks:)

Had a great drink from Eric there...an "Eric-rita"..yum!
Dinner was delicious, had the Filet...

After dinner, visited GF and CR to check out the construction there....walked into MK....walked back out! SO crowded..great thing about having an AP!

Next up...Sunday....Attending the first "Sweet Sunday" at Epcot ..a Food and Wine Festival event.....

THis is my first ever trip report...so if its lacking...too bad! lol

So, Sunday morning, was ready to say bye bye to All Star Music and Hello to Animal Kingdom Villas!!

JAMBO!
I was ready at 7 am, took some photos of the resort..just a few folks out..smoking, the guy above me just missed me as he flicked his cigarette off the 2nd floor. Lovely....
Took a taxi ...there were a few in the parking lot waiting, convenient, thank you.

AHHH...I felt totally transported once I walked through the entrance doors into the lobby! Home:)

Of course my room wasnt ready at 7 45 am! So I walked around, took my luggage to bell services, and took some photos and went to say good morning to the animals that were out and about near the people pen:)

There is so much detail here ...I love this resort.....I had booked a savanna room so I was anxious to see what room I was assigned.
The CM did tell me "whereabouts"....on Zebra trail...he circled my area on the resort map, just omitted the last 2 numbers of the room! Tease!

Nope, never ventured into Innoventions...just the building that said Festival Center!
I was on a tight schedule as far as time, darn!
That exhibit sounds interesting...any knowledge of how long it should be there for?

We attended this event that was held in the Festival Center ..2 hours...a wonderful breakfast buffet, served with Prosecco:)
Then a cooking demonstration...we had wonderful seats right in front, thanks to Goofys*Gal getting in front of the line:)
This was a paid event, and very worth it IMO!
Martini and Rossi sponsored this event , and had a few logo items for us at our seats.
The featured "chefs" were from Brooklyn, NY..Baked!
This was Goofys*Gal suggestion, thank you Laura:mickeyjump:

They were on the Today show yesterday morning as well.
They preprared 4 different desserts, which of course we got to try! And the Asti was served..along with refills of the Prosecco!

We had a great CM...for some reason he thought we wanted refills......:D

Yeah it was towards the end of my trip. Still sucked. took 2 steps into the pool and landed on my head. :) Still not sure how my toe got broke in the process.

Did you have my wine at Canada? ride soarin?

Well thats some story!! Yep, that sucks!!

While Canada was on my To Do list....that and some other To DO's...turned into..not enough time To DO :( You go with the best intentions of trying to do so much, and it just doesnt happen!

We did make it to Soarin' on my last day....it was after a few Prosecco's....:)(These are small pours, mind you :) )
That's coming in the report:)

I had to go back and read..I am posting photos ahead of time! LOl
Anyway, I had a studio at AKV, SV...as I stated before, I think, my room was located on Zebra Trail.
Was able to check in by 3:10 PM..not bad.
Loved it...took awhile for Bell Services, should have went and retrieved it myself...anyway...here are some photos of my room....and the view:)
I love walking through the lobby at this resort....it is so relaxing even when it is busy with guests!

THis was the view from a "value" studio! What a deal..not my room...the room is smaller, but I think totally "doable" for a couple, or a couple with a little one, comfortably!

Ok....so after waiting FOREVER for my luggage....My poor friends were living it up with all the characters at Liberty Tree Tavern..and one who drank chocolate milk..(he was a hoot) while they waited, and waited for me!!! :)

hats got sent back because the stitching was separating. Hoping to see them either today or tuesday.

I ordered 36 t-shirts. Will have them on the 14th. They are ash colored with cuatwdw.com on the front left and our logo on the back. Will post when I get them.

Thanks Tom! I love the BC/YC, like to always visit the BC! Still have not stayed at BCV...I love the atmosphere there...Beaches and Cream...we actually got a booth in there last month! Of course, Cape May Cafe...and so close to Epcot!!!
Wonder how the SAB refurb will affect reservations there....

Cant wait to see the hats/shirts!!!!
Well, posting that pic, with me and the hat...was a joke...lol..that pic is from 5 years ago!! I never wear white after Labor Day!! :)
