You might not have heard of Azamara Cruises but you're probably familiar with its sister lines – Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises.
Azamara, a relative newcomer to the high seas, markets itself as a "deluxe" product (that's somewhere between "premium" and "luxury") offering small-ship itineraries and top-notch service, dining and spa facilities.
Both Azamara ships – Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey – will be sailing through Europe next spring and summer. Right now, Transat Holidays is offering complimentary pre-paid gratuities and between $150 and $300 in onboard credit, for select 2009 sailings on both vessels.
On Azamara Quest, these include the May 16 and 28, 2009 departures of the 14-night Best of Italy itinerary, the Aug. 23 departure of the 14-night Black Sea itinerary and the Sept. 26 departure of the 11-night Western Mediterranean itinerary.
On Azamara Journey, it's the May 9 departure of the seven-night Med sailing and the Sept. 13 departure of the 14-night Western Med sailing.
The booking deadline is Oct. 31, 2008 and the onboard credit is allocated per stateroom. For information, see www.transatholidays.com (http://www.transatholidays.com/).
Free nights: The entire U.S. Pacific Northwest is on sale with Starwood Hotels & Resorts. From now through Nov. 30, participating Sheraton, Westin and W Hotels are offering third nights free with a two-night stay at properties in Seattle, Wash., Portland, Oreg., and Anchorage, Alaska.
The Canadian West is on sale too, from Vancouver and Victoria to Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatoon. Nights must be taken Thursdays through Sundays to qualify. You can also save on single-night or multi-night stays, starting from $109 in Western Canada and $105 (U.S.) in the northwestern U.S.
For both promotions, pre-payment in full is required, with no refunds. Call 1-866-716-8101 or see www.starwoodpromos.com/northwestadventure (http://www.starwoodpromos.com/northwestadventure).
$200 resort credit: The Fairmont Chateau Whistler's Free Ride deal offers a $200 resort credit with a three-night booking, for use at the property's restaurants, stores or spa.
The credit doubles to $400 when you book a six-night stay. This promotion is available from Nov. 15, 2008 to April 30, 2009. See www.fairmont.com (http://www.fairmont.com/) or call 1-800-441-1414.
Best Buy of the Week: Today's the last day for British Airways' free accommodation offer. The airline is packaging two free hotel nights in cities including London, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen with the purchase of a round-trip flight. See www.ba.com (http://www.ba.com/) for details.
