So, I figure we'll use our mugs for various drinks and didn't want to cross flavors, not to mention ewww... using the same cup for a week or so without washing?? No thank you! In the past I have taken a small bottle (like a travel size Visene bottle) with soap, but it was always a pain and I didn't have a wash cloth. I'm sure the towels etc are washed well/sanitized and all, but the thought of using a wash cloth on my dishes that was previously used on someone else's body just wigs me out a bit.
When I went to the store yesterday thinking I'd just grab some of those pre-soaped disposable wash clothes. I do remember seeing them, honest! But there was nothing like that to be found. On the way down the aisle, I saw the Handi Wipes hanging there and I though to myself, "Self, Why can't I just make my own?" So I grabbed the package of blue and white Handi Wipes (extra large) and took them home. (under $1.50!) I took one out and decided I would make 4 wash cloths from one Handi Wipe. I cut them up (made 8 wash cloths out of 2 wipes) and then took them to the kitchen. I took my Dawn foam soap (any would work - the regular soap would just take longer to dry) and put a little squirt on each one. I laid them out to dry and then stuck them in a baggie. I tried one of them and it worked great!!! I'm going to take on whole one (cut in half - so I'll actually have 2) as well to put on the counter to set the cups on to dry.
I'm sure if I had found the ones I was thinking of they would have cost around $4 or $5.
This would also work for baby wash AND facial wash for grown ups - instead of those expensive ones from the store. (I'm thinking the cloth would be soft enough for baby's skin - I just tried it on my face and it wasn't too rough)
