BOSTON, MA - The Glidden Family (Lynn Mass)

When it comes to volunteering, 11-year-old Victoria Glidden is always game, bringing her own â??teamâ?? â?? her family â?? to support her in her philanthropy. In 2008, Glidden was elected a Red Sox Kid Nation Captains. As a captain, Glidden organized a winter coat drive, and with the help of friends and family collected 350 coats for children in need. Through the Red Sox Kid Nation program, the Glidden family also participated in a backpack drive to benefit underprivileged students attending Boston schools.Â* In addition to collecting more than 4,000 school supplies for the packs, the family spent the day at Fenway Park filling and handing out backpacks. Â*The family is also involved with "Blanket the Globe" a project led by children to increase environmental awareness for youth around the globe.
