saw this post from AZeno at mouseowners and thought I would post it here
Came across an article from Hints from Helois in our local Sunday paper that deals with visiting theme parks. Most of these are common sense, but thought I would post anyway.
1. Before you go, take a picture of everyone with your cell phone or digital camera. This can come in handy if you get seperated.
2. Have everyone wear the same color of T-shirts for easy visibility.
3. Make a plan to meet at a specific location if you get seperated.
4. Eat lunch early in the day or late to avoid long lines. Then, when eveyone else is at lunch the lines for the rides are shorter.
5. Take an empty water bottle with you; you can fill it at the park.
6. Don't buy souvenirs until the end of the day, you don't want to lug around a lot of packages.

PARK TICKETS (OMG, I lost them!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes, it happens more often then not. You arrive at the turn style at the gates of one of the parks and you can't find your ticket(s). You first blame your spouse or your child, because you know YOU couldn't have lost it! LOL So, here's a VERY IMPORTANT TIP!
The first thing you should do when you buy WDW tickets is make a photocopy of the reverse side or take a picture of it with your camera (the side with the magnetic stripe). If you lose your ticket, your only hope of getting it replaced is to have the coded information on the back. The seemingly random numbers, letters and dates you'll see in a couple of locations on the backs of your tickets will help Disney replace the tickets if you lose them. Disney will usually reissue a pass if you can provide that information, though it is not obligated to do so: the tickets state that "Disney is not responsible for misplaced, lost or stolen tickets."
If you buy your tickets at the gate, save the receipt, since that can also be used to look up lost tickets. A receipt from a non-Disney source, such as AAA or a ticket broker, won't have any information that helps with replacing tickets, so it is especially important to make a photocopy or take a picture of them with your camera if you get your tickets that way.
A quick note on #6 is Disney's free package delivery for on-site guests. You don't have to worry about lugging your souvenirs around since most stores within the parks AND at Downtown Disney will deliver to your hotel when you stay at a Disney resort hotel. I have had success using this. It's rarely going to be a short walk to get BACK to the place that you found the "perfect gift", and it is much more convenient to let Disney deliver it to you at the resort.
Thanks for this useful stuff. We always take empty water bottle and filled it in the park. Throughout, we save the money and not buy the water bottle in the park. It is very well idea and other ideas we remember and put them in next tour plan.
• Keep your planning simple. Don’t over schedule. Based upon what you have read
and the recommendations of friends and family, decide on a few “must-do’s” and
leave the rest of the time for discovery and surprises.
• Be flexible. You’ll appreciate the simplicity of your plan when your little ones discover
their own "must-do's" during the vacation – or when "children are children." In other
words, be prepared to make fun out of the unexpected.
• Take a break in the middle of the day. You can say you are taking the break for your kids but you may secretly cherish the airconditioning and rest more than they do.
