Ok, I think I need a place to put all the stuff I need to get done before our trip IN 3 WEEKS. :eareek: This seemed to just all of a sudden creep up on me.

I feel like I still have a million things to do, but a scattered brain to not have it (what needs to be done/bought/packed) in one place.

I did work on our schedule today. Writing down EMH for the parks and getting all our ADR's in one place. I went through the bin of Disney Stuff I've been saving all year. Washed the new shirts.

I've decided that instead of autograph books (I'll still take them) we are going to get shirts for kids and I have fabric markers and have them sign the shirts.

I need to get:
glow sticks
shoe holder
batteries
Postcard stamps
iPhone app (thanks to here for that)
need to decide on MyPoints rewards
Lanyard for Samantha

I've ordered:
Photopass CD
extra camera batteries
Disney Rewards card

What is a Photopass CD?

The Photopass CD is just the CD of all the pictures that the Photopass photographers take. If you pre-order it you can save 20%.

We bought it last trip and love it. I love telling the CM's that we bought the CD b/c they took tons of pictures.

Then when you get home you can edit them to add cute borders. I highly recommend them.

Where do I look into that?

Here's the link to their ABOUT page. (http://www.disneyphotopass.com/aboutdpp.aspx) I highly recommend it. We still took our own pictures, but it was nice to have some great shots with all of us in them.

Looks like I'll be flying out to NM the day before we leave for FL. They are hoping to have be in Orlando by check in day. Man I'm so nervous. I'm sure it's not going to go as planned.

Trip Report 2008

Friday December 5th

We wanted to leave Charlotte by 2pm and drive the 4.5 hrs to my cousin’s house in GA. But we didn’t live the house until 2:30p. Which wouldn’t have been too bad, but we had received a call from our eye doctor that our new glasses were in and wanted to stop by there to have them for our trip. We left there at 3:15pm and still had to stop by FIL’s work to pick up last minute items that MIL wanted the kids to have. (I would have not of done this expect that the shirts that we had planned on having the characters sign was part of the items) So we didn’t start our road trip until 3:30pm

The drive wasn’t too bad. I had printed out a blank US map and brought colored pencils with the hopes of marking off the different states we see cars from. This became more for Steven and I as the kids either watched movies or slept. (We did see a car from Alaska and thought that was the coolest. Also I forgot to put Canada on the map and we did see several from there.)

We arrived at my cousin’s house with only stopping once (for Steven to pee, well we all took advantage, but he was the one that needed to go). We arrived at 8:15pm. Too late for the 7:30 (FREE) poker game, but another was going to happen at 9:30. Saw the clubhouse and little of the course then headed to her house to see the kids and leave ours with the sitter so we could make the 9:30pm poker game.

*Now once it was known that my cousin owns the golf course and that Steven could play he was in heaven. THEN we find out that Friday nights they have poker night at the club house (and it’s FREE) he was even MORE in heaven. He was bummed about missing the first game but was excited about the second. He made mention that those two days (Friday night and Saturday) were HIS vacation and that the week in Disney would be MINE. *

We went up to the club house and had to wait for the earlier game to finish. That first hand I scored big with trip-8’s. But then it was downhill from there for me. I was out in about a dozen or so more hands and headed back to relieve the sitter and left Steven still playing. I think he showed up about an hour later. It was NOT a good nights sleep. All five of us were in a tiny room and SE and I slept on the twin bed while J and K had a queen blow up mattress and S had a single blow up.

Saturday December 6th

Next morning we ate, played some Scene It and went golfing. I did great for my first time. I only got in about 3 holes though b/c SE was tired and I took her back to rest. K only did about 5 holes and came back and Steven and my cousin finished off the course. He did get a quick ‘lesson’ from my cousin’s husband (who is the Pro at the course) to help with his (Steven’s) slice.
Pappy had put a roast in the oven so we had that for dinner. For lunch I had made a few things, by this time 3 kids from the neighborhood had showed up to play with cousin’s kids (who are 10 and 6). I was alone with 8 kids. I let Steven know about that. ;) But that is the type of house I want ours to become, ie the house all the kids hang out in.

Dinner was nice, but we went to bed early so we could be out the door by 5am. *side note: It is 4 hrs 37 mins from our house to cousin’s and 4 hrs. 39 mins from her house to Disney (according to Google).* Again we couldn’t sleep “too excited” I suppose. Hehe

Sunday December 7th. (Happy Disney World Day)

We were up earlier than expected and out the door by 4:30am. (what an AWFUL time to be up)

I know we stopped at least twice. The last was so again Steven could pee.

We arrived about 10 mins b/f BIL which was nice. I went in and got our room checked in, he (BIL) went in and got MIL’s room checked in and then SIL went in and got their room checked in. Our rooms weren’t ready yet (it was 10am so I wasn’t expecting them to be) we didn’t get in the building I wanted nor did we get a newly renovated room.  Also our rooms were adjoining like hoped, but oh well.

We had no dining reservations planned so it was decided to hit the Studios. Bus ride wasn’t too bad.

We got there about noon and went straight for Toy Story Mania to get a fast pass, they were no longer distributing them, and so we waited in line for Kayla to see Buzz and Woody. Samantha had fallen asleep in the stroller and Joseph was too afraid. After that we went to get lunch. Steven and I (well more me I think) decided to only get 2 CS meals at a time and split them so that we could eat more. Then off to Toy Story Mania, the stand by line was only 40 mins, which I don’t think even lasted that long. WHAT an awesome ride. And I’m glad we waited in the standby line, b/c the queue is awesome too. Had we had FP’s we would have missed it. We then headed over to Lights, Camera Motion show (I think that’s the name) Joseph’s eyes were HUGE during that.

It was getting late and cold so we headed back to the hotel. Changed and J decided to stay with Jaime and Heidi and K, S, SE and I went back to the Studios. Saw the great Christmas lights. Forced Kayla to do ToT and Steven took her on Star Tours. Then we called it a night. It was nice, Joseph stayed with Jaime and Heidi all night.
