Effective January 28, 2011, unused travel funds may only be applied toward the purchase of future travel for the individual named on the ticket.

No more selling them on ebay! I would guess maybe that is why they are not allowing the swapping. Some people would just let them expire (like us LOL) while others would give them away or sell them. Southwest will get extra cash that way.
