View Full Version : Free Dining with Split Stay?

Ok, I'm asking the CU Crew instead of that larger board as to not get flamed.

This is only an IF scenario.

We are going to WDW in August 2009. I've read that IF they offer Free Dining again, it MAY be from 8/24 through whenever. Here is my question.

We are staying at the Treehouse Villas from 8/20 - 8/24. We are checking out and moving to Pop Century on 8/24 til 8/28. We are purchasing 8 Day tickets to use while we are there during the whole trip. If we split the stay, will we still be able to take advantage of the Free Dining IF they offer it, already having the tickets before we check in on the Free Dining Date?

you will need to purchase a 1 day ticket for everyone that is staying at the Pop. Free dining is part of a package deal.

That's kind of what I was afraid of. My in-laws are paying for the dining plan and the 4 day passes for us while we are at Treehouses. We were going to add 4 days of tickets on to that for like $40. After they leave, we were going to extend our trip and move to Pop. After seeing the free dining rumors, I thought, oh no, we are already going to have tickets. It may be worth it for us to buy the 1 day tickets for each person. I guess I'll have to run the numbers and see.

Now if we buy the one day tickets, do we have to use them? And if we don't use them, when we do use them, can we upgrade them to more days using their value towards the cost? Sorry for all the questions. Figured I'd ask while I was thinking this through my head.

from everything I have read u can upgrade them. I'll see what i can find and post it for oyu

Thanks a bunch. I know I'm just looking at wishful thinking, thinking we may be able to get the free dining. Just putting everything in a spreadsheet to estimate the cost and arrange things.

Another question. I'm guessing the answer is no though.

If you have an annual pass can you qualify for free dining or do you still have to buy atleast 1 day?

Ok, here is another scenerio for you.

Trip dates 8/20-8/28

8/20-8/24 Treehouse Villas
8/24-8/28 Pop Century

We are getting 8 day park passes.

Let's say Free Dining starts 8/24

If we book a room at Pop from 8/24-8/28 and buy our 8 day passes with that reservation, can we activate the 8 day passes on 8/20 to use them early? And still qualify for free dining?

Sorry if I'm confusing you! We are trying to avoid buying those 1 day passes at the tune of $240 for the 3 of us. Trying to squish it all together to save the most cash.

You would still have to buy one day, but you could use that one day toward that anual pass (if you are getting it then) or use it the next year when you get a new AP
