Walt Disney World intros annual-pass promo
BY RYAN MCCLUNG
Seemingly contradicting WDW's recent price-hike, WDW has rolled out a new annual-pass promotion whereby current pass holders can purchase a 15 months for the price of 12.
A first for Disney, the promotion began Aug. 2--unsurprisingly the same day annual-pass prices increased--and only applies to annual-passes that are set to expire Sept. 1 or later. To qualify for the promotion, a pass holder will have to be within the customary renewal period, 60 days or fewer from the expiration date.
Perhaps in an effort to stave off throngs of angry would-be annual-pass holders, Disney has chosen to keep this promotion quiet. Disney representatives have been contacting only eligible pass holders via email and snail mail.
Disney representatives have not revealed how long the promotion would last. Said Kim Prunty, Disney spokesperson, "We're going to periodically evaluate the program to determine how long it will run."
