Cruise ship Oasis of the Seas to feature 'nightclub district'
Royal Caribbean International has revealed details of a range of nightclubs on board Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world under construction.
The ship's Entertainment Place will feature a nightclub district on board. These include a nightclub called Blaze, a music lounge called Jazz on 4, a comedy club called Comedy Live and a dance lounge called Dazzles, which will span two decks and feature floor-to-ceiling windows.
Comedy Live will feature decor inspired by a New York subway station while Jazz on 4 is designed as an intimate venue, inspired by prohibition-era Chicago with jazz and blues music.
In addition, the ship, which launches late next year, will boast a 1,380 seater theater - the Opal Theatre - and the world's largest casino at sea, Casino Royale.
Other entertainment on board includes the AquaTheater, which will have aerial and aquatic acrobatic shows, and the On Air Club in the Royal Promenade, which will have TV monitors showing news, sport and music events.
Passengers will also be able to sing karaoke or create their own music videos in private booths, while Club 20 is a late-night dance club under the stars.
The ship will span 16 decks and carry 5,400 passengers at double occupancy. It is the first of the cruiseline's ships to have seven distinct 'neighbourhoods' on board. These include Central Park, an outdoor park area along the inside of the ship, Royal Promenade and Boardwalk.
