The Wizarding World of Harry Potter welcomed its first Muggles over Memorial Day weekend and continued soft openings almost daily after that, but its star-studded official Grand Opening was June 18. The event drew thousands of fans who clogged the property all the way through City Walk and who waited for literally hours in near-record Florida temperatures to enter the hallowed gates of Hogsmeade.

Rabid Harry Potter fans descended in the wee hours of the morning, with a crowd of about 5000 before Islands of Adventure even opened.
