The point charts:

For years DVC has sufferred from a Sun-Thurs vs. Fri & Sat inbalance. With all of the new points, and bargain renting, it has become worse these last few years. New members have really been complaining about the lack of availabilty, so DVC hired an outside consulting firm to fix this problem.

Their first solution, the new booking system. Saving lots of time and $$$ for MS. Their next solution the point charts, to unskew the weeknight skew. The original point charts had a greater than 20% reallocation which violated the POS. Therefore the current charts were released. Depending on future booking trends, they may again reallocate in 2011-2012 to fully even-out weekend and weeknights, or may hold at the first reallocation levels. The original plan was for near parity, stopped only by the 20% rule.

The firm is working on other 'issues' as well, but I can't find my cheat-sheet of notes right now......

So far the 100 point add-on rule is for BLT only, but again this is an experiment to see how it affects dales and costs. It may be applied to the other new resorts if it is cost/sales effective for the DVC/DVD.
